I know this board is primarily for HF tractors, but I thought some might like to see another of our Ferguson implements (along with 1955 TO-35) that my grandfather used in NW Iowa. According to the original receipt the spreader was bought 3/25/50 for $415 from Currie Implement, Odebolt, IA. It's in good shape, no rust, solid wood floor, all the gizmos turn.

Very nice picture!
I have always wondered why the tread pattern on manure spreader tires is backwards relative to the rear tires on tractors.
Anbody know? Ijust can't quite think it through.

Thanks Jim. I think steveormary is right. It is a ground drive and since it is being pulled it gives better traction this way. I'm pretty sure they are the original tires. It sure makes airing up the tires a pain since the filler stems face inside and always seem to be right behind the body!

Mike, where is the banna loader for your tractor.
Nice picture Mike,do you ever have the front wheels come off the ground.

Jim, I believe this is a ground driven spreader. Not PTO driven. That is why the tires are mounted the way they are. Gives more traction to power the spreader.

Thanks! Yes, a banana loader would complete the package. He never had a loader...did it the hard way. I remember having to help from time to time. I've never had it loaded up, but I don't remember him ever having front wheel lifting problems. The way that quick hitch is set up the weight is lower and more forward than having it hooked to the 3pt. or drawbar, so I think the center of gravity is better.
