My 1956 TO-35 has a 4cyl.gas engine and has the deluxe sticker. It also has the ground speed PTO. Did they make any TO-35 Deluxes in 1956? All help and advice is greatly appreciated!

From the very beginning, the TO-35 came in both gas deluxe and gas special. Howevef, the SNs did not show the distinction until they began using the SN prefixes in the Spring of 1956 when the beige sheet metal was introduced at the same time the F-40 came out. Prior to the prefixes, one had to look at the tractor itself to see the difference. The most obvious feature was that the tractormeter was standard on the deluxe version but not the special.

Hi Bear
According to the records that I have, the TO 35 deluxe was first built in 1958 from serial number 178216 onwards.
Also from 1958 serial number 183348 a Gas Special was built.

I think that Diff lock was introduced into the British built MF 35 as part of the Deluxe, but can't recall were that bit of info came from to verify it,

Hope this is of help

Hi Bear;
The TO-35 Deluxe included these options among others: Dual-stage clutch
4 guage dash, incl. Tractormeter
Power steering
Padded seat
Not sure when they started making the Deluxe.
Do a search (from top of page) on TO-35, etc. You'll get lots of returns/info.

I have a 1955 TO35 with all of these options:

Hi/Lo Transmission (6 speeds forward, 2 reverse)
4 gauge dash (incl. tractormeter)
Dual-stage clutch
Ground and Engine driven PTO
Padded seat

Does not have power steering. It wasn't until 1958 that the deluxe and special were given diffrent serial number ranges.
