I was thinking of buying a tiller for my TO-30. Never seen one used. Not sure how
well it will work behind this tractor? I was thinking it may be too fast.
Any past experience or advice would be great. Thank you

This makes me wonder: Has anyone tried to fit the later Ford planetary axles to the Ferguson or the earlier Fords for that matter. They have, I think, a 4.5 to 1 reduction. Should give real slow tillering speed. I might try it on my 3000. Off course top speed would only be about 5 mph. --cdmn

Hi Bryan,
In the past when this question was raised, it was the general consensus that unless you have a low range, it's just too fast like you thought.

Bryan, just as Chuck has mentioned, I tried one on my TO-30 and found that 1st gear was too fast for it. I opted for a 2-bottom plow and a set of discs for my large garden area. That works very well for me. Have a good day.

Thank you both very much for your reply.
You helped me decide against the tiller.
I still think the TO-30 is a great tractor!

Bryan

I have a 5 ft. tiller that i use behind my TO20.The tracor is a bit fast for the tiller. What i do is i take my 2 bottom plow and plow in the fall and till in the spring. The ground is fine as sand when done.Nice and level with no clumps like i use to get from discing.I also got a good buy on it,but i would have ended buying one eventually.I wouldn't take nothing for it as the ole saying goes.
