is there anywone out there who has had problems with the distributors? I have put the DR on it and it runs fine for short time and then breaks the rotors or tries to climb up and ruins the distributor as if it has camshaft problem ???

I had the same problem on my TO-20 and after researching this site I found out there is a nut at the end of the cam shift that becomes loose over time, after removing the timing cover of my tractor sure enough that was the problem, I tightened the nut and havent had any problems since.

Hey Bob,
On my Delco I have in my TE20, the way the bevel gears mesh with the cam, it naturally tries to push the distrib shaft upwards. There must be a split ring missing that is supposed to fit in a groove just below where the shaft enters the housing. If I were an engineer, that is where I would put it!
Good luck!
Tex
