Hi All, Please tell me I haven't ruined my engine. Last night after adjusting the valves to cold, I started up my Fergie TO-30 but forgot one important thing. I left my huge crescent wrench on the crankshaft end nut. Well, true to form she fired right up, first click, and man what a racket. Please tell me the threaded piece that the crankshaft pulley rides on is NOT part of the crankshaft and can be replaced. Please! After a few revolutions the nut was off and this threaded shaft is bent. It's also loose. I'm not sure of the damage because it's jammed into the axle and until I get that pulled I won't know whether to cry or smile.

I hope it's a threaded rod that screws into the end of the crank. Help me!

I see it's a bolt and not a nut. It just unthreaded itself and after I pulled the axle, all is well. Busted one ear off the end but otherwise it's back together.
