Tonight I picked up my rebuilt starter, installed it and got to start and drive my TEA-2080 for the first time - what a great little machine! Thanks to Barry from Stirling I was able to recognize and get a dust cover for the distributor. Should I be concerned that my firing order seems to be different than Barry's 2085. We tried his order but it didn't work - changed the order and it purrs. Also, which is #1 cylinder - at the front or rear of the engine?

#1 cylinder is the front one. You can't have a different firing order but #1 could be in a different spot, depending on how the distributor was installed. If you find which of your spark plug wires is # 1 and work counterclockwise you should discover that they do go 1-3-4-2.
Great fun to drive it for the first time, eh?
Jim
