you don't say what tractor you have but on my TO30 the filler cap is next to the shift lever. its used for the hydraulics, tranny, and rear end.

Hi
Thanks for replying i thought that was for the high and low leaver

The tractor that i have is a grey 1954 ted 20 with a diesel engine with a front loader on which had not been used for ten years - it managed to start after the third turn of the engine. hydraulics a bit slack got water in pipe work, needs new back tyre. Anybody out there who would like to do a trade for another tractor ?

A TED 20 does not have a diesel engine; it is meant to run on tractor vapourising oil (TVO). This is a mixture of kerosene (paraffin), gasoline (petrol), and something else - check around on the internet or in the archives of this message board for the recipe.
Or, if you do have a diesel engine (fuel injectors?), maybe you have a TEF20.

Hi Jim W

Yes i thought this as well but it does have fuel injectors just like on a diesel engine. it is definitely diesel i checked this on the web. the d could be an O - cannot tell for sure as the serial plate has nearly worn away. will a (TVO) run on diesel?
