A guy was telling me today that in 1954 the TO35 could be bought with Grey Sheet Metal and Matellic Green Castings or Grey Sheet Metal with Slate Grey Castings or Yellow Sheet Metal. Three color choices is this true or is somebody pulling my chain.

My TO20 appears to have originally benn green castings with light gray sheetmetal. Seem like that would have been a bit earlier?

There are a few missing links in the chain.

First of all, the TO-35 was first produced in December of 1954 in preparation for its introduction in January of 1955. The 35 began with the gray/green metallic until the late Spring of 1956 when M-H-F couldn't quite make up its mind about colors. Briefly that spring they tried beige sheet metal and kept the green metallic. After a few units (demos) were made, they decided to go with flint gray metallic castings. The beige/flint gray metallic was used until December of 1957 when they changed the beige to red, retaining the flint gray metallic castings. In late 1960 the TO-35 became the MF 35 with red sheet metal but with a different gray for the castings. Confused? In spite of all the color changes, the 35 remained one of the finest tractors of its kind ever built. The story of this transformation was told in Issue #5 of Ferguson Furrows, produced by Ferguson Enthusiasts of North America (FENA). See their web site at the following address.
