I agree with John. Your 3 point should descend even without the weight of an impliment ...IF...your control valve moves to the descend position. As long as your valve is working the problem is most likely the control fork that moves the valve. I had problems similiar to yours. I discovered that the movement of the control lever is greater than necessary for full movement of the control fork, either direction (raising or lowering). So it's possible to move the control lever, thus the control fork, and thus the control valve past it's design operating movement. When I did it to my TO-20, the valve stuck, and then the control lever did nothing, and the 3 point didn't move. I had to unstick it with my hand like this:
Remove the left side cover plate below the seat, the one with the PTO engage handle. Looking inside, you can see the control fork with it's bottom half submerged in the hydraulic fluid (and connected to the all-important control valve). Now operate the control lever and watch the control fork. It should move with the lever. If it doesn't it's stuck and you need to untick it with your hand. Notice the fork stops moving BEFORE you run out of control lever travel. I suggest putting stops on the control lever and your problems might dissappear.... Good Luck.

I tightened up the four bolts where I tried to make adjustments, lifted the arms by hand, then attached an implement and it started working?????
It raised and lowered, I scraped my driveway and it still working??? I don"t think I solved my problem. I feel that it"s going to come back. But till it stops working I"m not touching it.
Thanks for the advise, till next time.

Have you checked if the control fork has become detached from the control valve. The adjustment you are trying to make will make no difference to this problem. Check if there is play in the control spring at the back of the seat, with an implement mounted and lifted, you should have about .020" end play at the most, if its more than that you need to adjust it out on the shaft that runs through the centre of the spring, once this is done and correct you can then adjust the Hydraulic quadrant. If you need more help email me at fergusontractors at hotmail dot com and I will send you a check list of what to do.
