Afternoon Everyone
First off is it possible to mount a snow blower to the front of a TEA-2085, and if so what would I need? The reason Im asking. I was back at my local Massey Dealer last night and went for a walk thru his back row. There sat a 4 ft wide snow blower with all the attachments for a front mount. Now,what it came off I dont know. Could it be retro fitted to go on a TEA-2085? The bracket that is with this blower is quite long and looks like it would mount under the tractor. Second question? Its run by a PTO, how do you run a PTO from the front? I have heard somthing about a front mounted pulley. Again I know nothing about this either. Can any one explain to me if this can be done or am I just wishful thinking. Thanks in advance..... Barry

Another reason for us to meet Barry - I received this post last week on another board "I have a complete front mount snowblower setup that used a 5" blower. I opted to rear mount my blower so the setup is available. (reason is that I have a frt loader and would have lost this feature) It is chain and sprocket system driving a 1" shaft to the front via u-joints and pillow bearings. Also it has a slider adjustement to accomodate different tractor lengths. The whole deal is hung from the towbar and fits a standard pto shaft. Made from 3" channel stock. This is a factory unit made in Quebec. It had been on a Bolens tractor previously and is in great condition."

I was looking for something for my 4WD, 52 HP tractor - don't know if it is big enough but might do your application.

Bob

I don"t think it would be wise to try to drive a snowblower off the front crankshaft pulley it was never designed to do that. You would have to drive from the rear pulley via a long drive shaft down the side of the tractor, I have seen that done before on harvesting equipment. It would be ok to drive a front mounted hydraulic pump from the crank pulley (a small one) you could also drive the snowblower with a hydraulic motor and pump driven from the pto too.

i run my loader off a front mount pulley barry, i suppose you could run a snowblower off it too ,id be a little concerned about the 4 ft. aspect of it though, you would be steering in deep snow.
