The correct paint code for a Ferguson 20 or 30 is Sherwin Williams number JX4030. NAPA sells the paint.

Lareen. Welcome.

As for paint... Straight Battleship Grey. However, if you want some exotic color go right ahead, Just tell the Hubby that the origional is under you paint choice. i.e. the primer

As for the model... There is no such thang as a TO-28. There is a model commonly referred to as a TEA-2085.

There are two easy ways to tell. 1st the ID plate with serial number is/was located on the dash next to the steering column. There you should find the serial number stamped into the plate. It will start with a printed TE, TEA, or TO then the number. Whit the letters and numbers you can go to the Reasearch section (column to left) and click serial numbers and look up what you have.

The other way is to look at the engine. on the left hand side there could be a cast number like
Z120 - TO-20 or TE-20
Z124 - TO-30

or if no Z number if the oil fill is at the rear of the engine then it is a TEA-20.

A TEA-2085 (Not an official name) it a TEA-20 whit the engine cylinders bored out to 85mm.

Hope this helps.
Let us know more info and we'll try to get more specific.

I made a typo
The TO-30 has a Z129 engine. There is no Z124 in Fergy tractors.

There should be a serial # tag by the steering wheel. This # will tell it all. If not we can help figure out which tractor you have.

Could it be that they said 20-80?
If so that makes it an early TEA20.
Jim
