The oil pressure gauge on my TO-20 just quit working the other day. I had suspected for some time that it was goofy, so its failure came as no real surprise. The gauges on my tractor look suspiciously similiar to Ford N Series gauges. Could this possibly be true? My local worthless Massey-Ferguson dealer told me to go to the local el-cheapo parts store and get a chrome plated wonder from China for $8.99, which ain't gonna happen. Would it be "Fergie treason" to use Ford gauges on my beloved old machine? Thanks and all the best..... ...P

I bought a nice oil pressure gauge a couple years ago from the Dennis Carpenter catalog. It doesn't have anything on it to indicate that it is Ford or that it was made in China. The thing that I like about it is that it is a 50psi gauge and since the Fergusons operate normally in the 20 to 25 psi range it shows about half the scale on the dial. I know that its all in ones mind but I feel more comfortable when I see the gauge reading in the mid-scale rating than on the bottom part of a 100psi gauge. Price $12.50 in the October 2002 catalog that I have.

If you go to a decent supplier, you can get classic black face Stewart-Warner instruments that look awesome, and don't cost too much. They look great, they look reasonably correct, and they're accurate.

Bill,
I put one on my TEA lately. There is what looks like a bolt head in the thermostat housing, on the left side.
Good luck finding a sensor or adapter with the same threads. The bolt, or plug, is brass so I drilled through the centre of it and tapped it to receive the sensor that came with an inexpensive electric temp gauge from Princess Auto. Works great.
Regards,
Jim
