Hi again.... and Happy Newyear to everyone. I have a 12v conversion on my TO20 with a Delco Remy alternator (1 wire hookup). If the alternator is kicking out 14.5+ volts, will it eventually boil over/kill the battery? The new battery lasted one season. And now....it's not taking a charge. I did notice wettness all over the top of the battery.

Thanks,
Nick

The alternator control should take care of any overcharging like a control box on a generator system. The wetness you get can be due to overfilling the battery, when the battery is cold check the water and if you can see water in it its fine, when it starts charging it will warm up and cover the plates anyway, so if they are covered to start with it has to go somewhere. If it keeps charging at a high rate, get the alternator checked.Check all the connections and the grounding too.
