PTO Lever Won't Engage

Gentlemen

I posted last week that I had oil coming out of my PTO shaft port. Well, many dollars later, I had a seal & bearings replaced, as well as the crown & pinion. My tractor was returned to me & I ran the snowblower for about an hour, and now my PTO lever will not move back.

There have been times in the past when I couldn’t engage the PTO, so I would release the clutch pedal while pushing on the lever. Sometimes it would engage right away, sometimes it would grind a bit then engage. But now it only moves a little bit but will not engage.

I will contact the repair guy and let him know, but I want to ask you guys first if there is a simple solution that I should know about.

Thanks in advance.

Gary

PS. Happy New Year to all and I look forward to reading your questions, comments and answers to my dilemmas in 2005.

Was the PTO shaft on the snowblower shortened as discussed before? If not, to make sure there is not so much binding and pressure on shaft lower it down slightly and try agian if you were attempting in the high position.

Just a thought which may or may not work.

Good Luck

Norm
