Apparently some Fergusons have an auxilary hydralic outlet which is located just under the right hand side if the seat. Is there a way of accessing auxilary hydralics if I have no plug?

All tractors have at least one pressure point on the Pump body which is right at the bottom of the tractor below the seat, it will be on a corner and you will need an adaptor to screw in the pump the size is 1/2"x20tpi, you need a good sealing washer and don't over tighten the adaptor into the pump body as it is only alloy and it may strip the thread, if it leaks get a better quality sealing washer. To get power to that point you need to stop the lower links of the tractor going to the top of the lifting stroke as it will shut the hydraulics off when it does. You need to use possibly a pick-up hitch or extra strong drawbar stays and attach them to the hinged pin under the top link connecting point, DO NOT ATTACH TO TOP LINK ROCKER. When whatever you are using gets to its maximum lift or stroke, move the Control Lever forward till the relief valve stops blowing off, move your lever stop to this point so you can move the Control Lever each time to the same point. DO NOT LEAVE THE RELIEF/SAFETY VALVE BLOWING

Thanks John..... I thought that if the pto was on there would always be constant pressure from the pump and that plug you described would always have pressure? From there I was simply going to run a line to a hydraulic controller on the fender and then drill and tap a return line somewhere. Will this work?

The pressure will only be there if you hold the lower links down and stop them going up the last 6" or so, if they go up to the top it will stop the hydraulics from supplying any pressure because it moves the Control Valve to the neutral position, only if you hold them down will it have any pressure. If you do that and run a line as you say it will work.If you use a return line, do not run it into the Gearbox plug, you must return it to the hydraulic section of the housing,(the section under the seat) If you return oil to the Gearbox it will fill the gearbox quite quickly as the oil can't escape to the hydraulic section easily (on purpose)as there is a baffle built in to prevent oil surge when the tractor is working up and down on slopes. Possibly the easiest place to return oil is to drill a round side cover and put a fitting in there, the internal oil level if it is filled by the correct amount is only just above the bottom screw that secures the side cover to the tractor so anywhere above that. Will you have enough flow from the Pump for whatever job you are doing it's under 3gpm at 2000 engine rpm.
