Just doing some repairs and maint. Is there supposed to be a t/stat in a Z120 Continental? If so, where? Ive had both hoses off and the outlet at the top of the head and can't find one. Seems fine without it but haven't seen many engines without one. Thanks, Mike

My TO-20 never had one when I bought it. It runs at 180-190 degrees when working. I"m hoping that"s ok.

It should be in the top hose, a push fit.
should start to open at 60 deg C and fully open at 93 deg C (140 deg F - 199 deg F)

It looks like the same thermo as in a Ford N, 1 1/4 in. diam to fit in the hose. Be careful when you install it, it will go in either way, but only one way is the right way. Should be stamped with an arrow or other indicator so you know which way it goes. Put it in backwards and your TO will overheat in only a few minutes..... found out the hard way.
