I just bought a to30 and would like to change the oil. I don't have a manual yet. How many quarts of what kind of oil, and oil filter do I need?

As you may know, the TO 30 uses a inserted cylinder filter. FRAM C134PL is an example I believe, though I have had difficulty finding the outer seal sized properly. Be careful in that you may need to reuse the outer seal when you remove the Oil filter cap ( the outer seal is placed inside the cap to contact the oil filter assembly). As an alternative, you can cut a new outer seal from a sheet of gasket material.

SAE 30 W oil is recommended during the summer periods and this is straight weight oil, not the multi-viscosity variety. Though you will find many opinions on this, I suggest you stay with the recommended variety.

Five quarts are required.

Are you sure you don't want to add a sixth quart with a new filter?

Go to the list of options at the left.
At the bottom click on related links.
Select Ferguson.

click on The Unofficial Ferguson Web Page.
Select the Maintainance option. Locate TO 30
for fluid volumes. 30 Wt is fine for summer opperation.
