Hi guys,

I want to make a reciever type hitch for my to20 by welding a reciever tube to a plate that will bolt to the four holes under the rear of the tractor. The only problem is I am not close to my 20, so I don't know what the hole pattern/spacing/size is. Can anyone help me by measuring theirs? Thanks.

...danny

Have you seen the hitch I posted a picture of?

This might be something you'd want to consider. It's easier to get on and off than something permenantly mounted. And you can hook up to a trailer without using the jack.

Boss,

That would definately be nice for moving around alot of trailers, but how do you keep down force on it? Any time I try and pull something without the stabilizer bars that go to the top link, the heavy loads always pull the lift arms up.

I want to make this hitch so that I can move the hitch point of a pull behind brush mower closer to the pto. Currently I am using it with the standard 3pt draw-bar but it extends the pto shaft further than I am comfortable with and makes backing the mower really squirly(sp?). Thanks for the suggestion though!

Most all the trailers I pull have plenty of tongue weight, so uplift of the hitch isn"t a problem.

When you say the "standard 3pt drawbar" do you mean you only have the flat bar between the lift arms?

If that"s the case, they make sway bars for those. Or do Fords have places to attach the sway bars? I"m a Ferguson guy - Never messed with Fords too much.

third party image

I bought one of these at Princess Auto, on sale for $25, to bolt under the axle of my TEA2080. I may have to drill it to match and I will need to buy longer bolts to replace the plugs that are currently there.

Don't forget the drain plug is in the middle of the bolt holes, so make allowance for that somehow.
(I have TEAs and am not certain they are the same otherwise I would give you the dimensions.)

D'oh! I didn't realize the drain plug was under there...

Mine has some kind of rig already bolted across the bottom of the back axle (which I will remove) but now that I look at my pictures more closely, I can see that they've cut a hole under it.
