Napa and Carquest Thermostat is a myth!

Well, after searching through all the N and TO forums I could find, I found several people claiming to have found an in-hose thermostat at both places. Unfortunately, no one was able to list a part number. So, I gathered all the info I could, including pictures and went to three Napa stores and one Carquest and still came up with nothing! I am declaring this a myth. Looks like I will have to order one online. If anyone would like to prove me wrong by providing me with a part number, I would appreciate it. Ugh, I was hoping to have it by this weekend so I could put my new radiator in and enjoy my tractor again.

The part #listed in the Ferguson Parts manual for the TO-20, TE-20 & TO-30 thermostat is 181 634 M1. You should be able to cross reference that to a NAPA etc part number. Give it a try.

Danny:
Sorry about your NAPA-CarQuest Search for the T-Stat. I'm one of those crazies that has touted their abilities and I guess I've been lucky. The counter Guys I've dealt with have been great. That said, I bought a T-Stat for my TO-20 at CarQuest and of course I've lost the receipt. But, it was expensive. I just looked at this dealer on the left under Tractor Parts. They got'm, $10.44 plus shipping. As I recall that was about what I paid, $14-15.00. I haven't found much on the dang tractors that are cheap or reasonable. Anyway if you don't find it anywhere else try these guys. I've bought some things from them and their efficient and as reasonable as I've found.

All About...Please keep in mind, the counter people at napa and Car Quest are not paid in the 6 figure range. Many of them will not put forth the effort to match up things. That said, your Ford New Holland dealer should be able to help you if it's common to an N. Also try your local Massey dealer. Good luck, have fun!!!Mike

Yeah, I ran into one guy who definately wasn't interested in helping me. The last Napa guy I tried was really helpful. He went and pulled prob. five different parts just to make sure. We dug through a couple of catalogs and even dug out a real old greasy and dusty one. No luck. I feel that if that guy didn't find it, it must not exist! I am going to try my local TSC store. They are a little expensive @ $19, but I really want to get the fergie up and going again.

I got a thermo at a Ford N.H. dealer about a year ago, don't recall spending too much... Sounds like you know the N and TO thermos are the same.
I see the thermos at my local TSC all the time but never looked at the price... Yikes $19!

Make sure you look for the flow direction arrow and install the thermo facing the right way. Install it backwards and you will overheat ASAP.
