I am looking at a 2 bottom mouldboard plow for my to-20. What is the capacity of my 3 point so I don't cause any damage. Also, can this machine handle a plow like this? Any suggestions?

The tractor was designed originally to use a 2 bottom plow, the maximum weight at the lower link ends is 800lbs if the hydraulics are ok. If you buy a 2 bottom and it is as some of the others say, very hard to plow, for the first time you can remove the front bottom unit and move the rear bottom unit in its place, it will be slow to plow but it will do it ok. But try it first with the 2 bottom plow you may be surprised what it can do. If you get a Ferguson plow it will be better.

I bought a 2-14" Ferguson plow myself recently and took it out in the garden with the MF-35 because the TO-20 had a flat tire...and it wouldn"t pull it...just jumped up and down spinning. After questioning a few of the old salts here on the board...they said that it would require 50% more power to pull if the shares and moldboards weren"t "scoured"...if you"re not a farmer, that means all shined up bare metal. The next thing they told me was if that old clay hadn"t been turned in 20/30 years, strike two! So, if you got any of the above...better get some kind of fluid in the tires or wheel weights...or both. Thank the board members, I"m just relaying.
You won"t hurt the hydraulics with it if their in decent shape they"ll lift it okay...but, if you"re just doing the garden thing they recommend 2-12"s or a single 16"er. And if you need to scour it, they recommend sandy soil or gravelly type soil. There was places where I couldn"t plow over 6 to 8" deep in old hard clay...but next year it will go easier. Fred OH

Harry Ferguson designed the TO-20 like the Ford 9N & 2N tractors primarily for the 2-bottom plow. In the right types of soil they were designed to pull it in 2nd gear. Some say they do a better job w/ a single-bottom. Depends on the condition of the tractor & the plow & how well the plow is set up(there's kind of an art to it, not too many around can set one up just right).

We started out with a TE-20 and 2 bottom plow. pulled just fine in 2nd gear. Also the 3pth will lift more then the front end will hold down. Be careful and play safe.

What Steve has said is true. I have a big ole scrap blade that came with my to30. When I pick it up, it gets front light and bouncy in a hurry. most of the time this isn't a problem, but this winter it was when I was trying to plow my yard and street. So Now I am thinking of making a front bumper and counnterwieghts. Does, anyone have plans for one?
