Will a TO35 handle a 7 ft back blade? What size range is optimal?

I have a 7' blade for my MF35, and wouldn't want one any smaller.

I absolutely HATE cheap, lightweight blades. They're absolutely worthless for all but the lightest of work.

I went to a farm equipment dealer and told them I wanted the biggest blade my tractor would pick up. We ended up settling on a 7' blade that says it's rated for a 70 HP tractor.

I like the extra weight over the rear wheels when I'm working - Gives the tractor more traction. And when you push dirt, the blade is heavy enough it doesn't just ride up over the top of it.

My blade spins 180° just fine without hitting the tires. The drawbar has to be pulled in to the shorter hole, though.

I tried an 8' blade, and did O.K. with it. But the hydraulic pump knocked. And the front end was so light you could stand in front of the tractor, grab the bumper, and pick the front end up easily.

I'd recommend the heaviest blade that your tractor can pick up and you can afford to buy.

Oregon Will: I use a 7' blade for up to a 40 hp made by bushhog on my TO-35. No problem turning the blade all the way around, but you may have to raise it a little. Mine is a 1955 Deluxe. Good luck.

I use a six foot box blade with my 35. I can drag a full load and it covers the tire tracks nicely. Your mileage may vary. Cosmo

The other problem with a 7 footer is that, you cannot turn the blade around when mounted. The blade hits the tires.

If your talking scraper blade, I would use a six foot. A box blade, five foot.
