Is a MF 3pt 10' Tandem Disc to big for a TO35? This disk is available locally for $600, but I am not sure if the 35 can handle it.

I think the biggest one that Ferguson made was a 7 foot and that could make them cough at times. I would agree with all the guys on here that 10 foot would be too big for normal use, get one that you can use anywhere, anytime, mounted preferably.(thats MY preference, but not everyone else is as keen about them)

I've never tried a 10' disk. Biggest one I tried was about 8'.

If it was a pull type, and you could carry it partly on the wheels, you'd do O.K.

But try to drop the thing all the way or hit a soft spot and I suspect you'd stop immediately.

With that 10-footer mounted, it might go all summer. On the other hand, with a 6-footer it might go another 50 years. My two cents.

That 10 ft disk is a little large for a 35. I use a 10ft, 3 point, lift up tandem disk with a MF65. at times the 65 has plenty and knows its got a load, and despite 5 weights on the front of frame, it gets real light in the front end when you lift the disk. You don"t say if it is a 3 point pickup disk, or a pull type, but I would advise you to pass and look for a smaller one that won"t overload your tractor. When we used a ferguson 35 to disk with, used a 12ft pull type single disk. This was a real pain in gardens and small patches.

A 10ft.tandem would be a little much for the TO-35. We used a 12ft.3pth single gang starting with a TE-20 and up to a Ford 850. I would think an 8ft.tandem with 3pth.would be plenty of disk.
