My TO-20 was built in 1950 and it ran good and everthing worked. My wife demanded I move it to the back of the yard and the machine was not started for nearly 3 years. I dismantled the starter and carb and cleaned them both and re-installed and found the srarter button block was shorted. After working around it the machine started and ran better than before it was parked. Now, I have no clutch. I managed to get it in gear and drove it around for 30 minutes and ran over the fence and tomatoe plants and parked it in front of the barn. Any ideas why the clutch will not work?

If it still "feels" like you are pressing the clutch down, meaning that you can still feel the pressure from the clutch fingers, and the clutch pedal does not just fall to the floor then the clutch disc is stuck to the flywheel. Usually not a major, just be careful. Try driving around with the clutch pedal depressed the whole time. Rev it up, slow down, even try standing on the throttle and the brake at the same time. *usually* it will break loose and work normally.

Just stay out of the garden, away from the fencess, off the hood of the cars, etc..
