Sell my Fergie?

I have a '53 Fergie TEA-20 with a Sherman 2-stage trannie and a Freeman front loader. She was running when I parked her, because the rear main seal started to leak very badly. The engine isn't cracked. Loaded tires, electronic ignition, strong hydraulics. Some parts have been scanvanged. I was going to fix her until I found my TO-30. Do you all think I could sell her here?

I'm confused. Does it need an engine overhaul, or does it just need a rear seal?

The engine probably needs to be overhauled. It had a tremendous amount of blow-by coming out of the breather cap. That"s one reason why I parked her. The neighbor had borrowed her to do some work on his road and when I got her back the was smoking pretty good.

Well, then it depends on your point of view as to what to do. You might get more money parting it out. You could easily sell the loader separately, and the tranny will bring decent money I assume. But it is a shame to tear it apart. A pro overhaul parts and labor is maybe $1400 more or less. So my guess is no one will pay much for the tractor as it sits, maybe $800-1000 or so, depending on tires and sheet metal.

Or would someone near North Carolina rebuild the engine for me if I shipped it to them?
