Hi all,,, oh my it is a long time since I posted anything on Yesterdays tractors. Years...

I want to make myself a Crane for my Ferguson, like the original Ferguson Crane.

Can anyone help with some info, dimmensions and so... maybe a drawing or pic... if someone has anything laying handy.

Just make sure that you do not connect the top link of the Crane to the top link connection of the tractor, use the long hinged pin below the top link rocker.If you use the top link connection it may cause damage to the sensing of the hydraulic system and it will also be harder to control the crane.

The following page might have something a bit useful - no dimensions of the Ferguson crane itself, but it would be complex to build and heavy soo unless you want originality I would try something simpler. At least, that's what I'm going to do.

The second crane is very interesting, Jim. The lift arms do lift it up but I believe the linkage allows the the boom to pivot about the upper link of the three point to cause the boom pole to get more vertical. This probably allows for a more vertical pull if you wanted to pull up a fence post. ferguson had some really clever mechanical designers working for the company. The tractor jack for the Ferguson is another clever design, in my opinion.

I see... well, I must admit that the original Ferguson Crane looks mighty fine to me... it id most tempting. :-)

Hm... if I only knew the size of the boom pipes.
