I know the engines on the Ford N series and the little Fergies are completely different, but I'm wondering as to whether any other mechanical parts on the two tractors interchange with each other? Things like hydraulics (inside and outside hardware), driveline components, steering, axles, etc.

If you get a 1952-1954 Parts Manual for the TO-30 it will list all of the parts that will interchange between the 9N, 2N, TO-20,TO-30,TE-20 and the TEA-20. I have found it to be a virtual gold mine along with a Dennis Carpenter Ford Tractor catalog. Just a couple weeks ago a got a tail light bracket for my TO-30 that was identical to the old one.

Mike:
The Parts book that I have, original Harry Ferguson, Inc. November 1952 lists all the parts and Part #'s that are common to the Ford 9N-2N and the Ferguson models.

I had to rebuid my hydraulic pump on my TO30 and found that Ford 9N parts fit. Just needed O-rings or gaskets on the end caps, can't remember which I used. Works fine though. Eric

Hi Mike! Many/most of the parts will interchange, except the engine and transmission. In fact the hand clutch on my TO30 is originally made for Ford tractors. The Hyd relief valve is different though, the Ford is set at 1900lbs and the Ferguson at 2200lbs. They are still interchangable.
