Hey guys I know this is way of topic but I have been gone from the H. Ferguson discussion forum for a while but when I click on the H. Ferguson discussions link it takes me to a screen that says "Oops this discussion no longer exists" or something like that. Can you tell me what's up? Thanks.

Booger.. I&T manual says recommended end play clearance is .003 - .007" and should be adjusted by adding shims if it exceeds .012". When you say "twenty thousands play" you mean .020"? If thats it, you need to add a few shims back to get end play down to less than .012"

George; The manual said to remove shims to decrease end play. I added 24t of shims and went to almost 50t. I am confused.

I seem to remember reading about oversized mains to correct this very problem. Phone a MF dealer or search on for them. YT will not allow me to post he addresses of some parts sites that may carry them. Two names are walts and davis tractor.
