I need to clean out my control valve. I managed to lose my tech manual and I don't remember how to release the transmission top plate from the valve. I broke a valve the first time I removed the plate & don't want to do it again. If you know how to do it please share. THANKS

There should be no need to remove the control valve unless it is damaged, if it is stuck then you can make it move again by gently moving the long fork from the top to the Control Valve back-wards and forwards. Nothing will stick in the Control Valve only the valve can stick in the bush. If you insist on removing the top cover, then spread the legs of the fork off the Control Valve. If the valve is sticking off and on over a period of time, it may be a wear ridge on the valve itself or dirt floating round in the system, has the oil been changed recently, change it when it is hot and use GL1 spec. oil, if you are using a detergent oil this could cause dirt to float around and stick your valve. The oil should be changed at least every 12 months.
