If you go to TSC look for the hydraulic oil listed as "For older Ford Tractors". In the fine print it will say GL1. You can also buy GL1 at Wal-Mart labled 90wt. This is a lot cheaper, about $23.00 5gal. same stuff.

When was the last time you saw it at Wal-mart? Wal-mart reported that they quit carrying GL-1 in May of 2004.

I live in Tenn. and they still have it at our local Wal-mart. I haven,t seen it at all Wal-marts. You just have to look around.

Shell Oil's brand name is Dentex and can be had from a local oil distributer (look in yellow pages) as another source. However, Ihave found NAPA cheaper.

I was looking for some and decided that lower unit oil for outboard motors will work. Outboard gear boxes are often made of aluminum or magnesium and have some brass parts. So the hypoid oil might attack them under certain conditions. I also bought a quart of worm gear oil at the John Deere dealer, and that should also be compatible. But you check it out.

I just ordered some last week using the 65-205 part# and they never said anything about discontinuing it. Cost $33 for 5 gal. They got it in overnight.
