The clutch on my TO 35 will not totally disengage on the "2nd" clutch, for ex, when I go to put my brush hog into gear. Is my clutch going??? Also, 3 point hitch falls after I turn tractor off. How do I fix this??? I"m an Oliver man but I really love this tractor and want to fix to keep. Thanks for any replies.....

The pto clutch on your tractor just needs resetting if you are lucky, if not you will have to take the clutch out. Remove the plate under the clutch housing and between the main fingers of the clutch you will find another screw with a clearance on it so that it doesn't operate the second part of the clutch till the pedal is pressed and the main part of the clutch bears on these screws. The clearance should be .090", if at this clearance the clutch will still not free off, try reducing the gap on all three adjusters by .005" each time till it does work. The minimum clearance you should have on this adjustment is .065" if you do get to this measurement and it still does nt free the clutch than the clutch will have to be overhauled....The hydraulics dropping will be a leak, caused by either wear or a blown "O" ring. But the hydraulics are not supposed to hold up when you turn the engine off anyway as they are not a sealed system. Some of them will hold up a long time others not so long or not at all, it all depends on how much wear there is in the system and how much oil can leak. Have you got the correct oil in the hydraulics anyway, that is another point, it should be oil to GL1 specification, 90 weight. You can buy this from NAPA part number 65-205. If you need more help with hydraulics or clutch, email me at:-
