We have taken our 1957 TEA out of semi retirement and have purchased a log/wood splitter designed to connect up to the hydraulics. Our TEA is a real work horse and the PTO etc works fine. Trouble is, we can't find where to plug the 2 hydraulic cables in - is anyone able to help out please?

There are a couple of places to connect your hydraulic pipes to the tractor. one is the large square plug on the front right corner of the cover under the seat, it is thread size 1/2" BSP, don't try the one on the left as it houses the safety valve and should not be disturbed. To return the oil to the tractor, do not return it to the oil filler alongside the gear lever as it will overfill the gearbox, use one of the round side plates, remove one of the top screws and feed it back through there, you will have to make something up to fix it there. Make sure that the oil is ok, it should be GL1 spec 90 weight and should be changed every 12 months or 720 hours. It goes bad if you leave it and forms a sludge.
