Was at Old Threshers and someone said a company that had bought out Harry Ferguson's company is still making tractors. Thought it was something like Faves. Anybody know of anything like this? Thanks

I said it wrong, as I know Massey-Harris went with Ferguson. He was talking about a company that bought the Harry Ferguson plant in Canada and is making tractors.

As pointed out...

On August 17, 1953 it was anounced that Massey-Harris and Ferguson Inc. would merge.

To my knowledge, Ferguson never had a plant in Canada. He had Ferguson Park in Detroit, and the Banner lane plant in Coventry, England.

Massey-Harris, and later Massey Ferguson, of course had many manufacturing facilities in Canada. I do not know if all N.American TO-30, TO-35, and TO-40's were produced in Detroit or if some were shifted to Canadian facilities.

Anyhow, in 1993, MF, was puechased by Agco. Agco still produces tractors under the MF nameplate.

And most certainly many production facilities were sold off during the various restructuring years between 1980 and 2000.

So, No I do not have any specific info directly to your question, but I hope this helps anyway.

Jeff.

Thanks for your input, I also did some searching and come up blank. So unless I have specifics, I'll just chalk it up as a rumor. Sure sounded good though. lol Thanks again.

For what it's worth, I was looking at some new Massey Fergusons just arrived at the dealership. They were made in Brazil. The bills of lading were still on the grilles.

I think what you may be talking about is a company basid in india that builds a tractor that is roumered to be made from the 35 molds

It does resemble the early tractors in some ways

They are made by a company called TAFE and were available to view tr tafe.com but at the moment the site wont open for me
