Anyone know if Ferguson made a corn planter? A planter with a Ferguson tag? I have only heard of a Woods Bros. made for Ferguson.

Your heading says corn PICKER but then in your message you say PLANTER, what were you asking about? I did have a Ferguson PLANTER that I sold to anouther colector with more mony than me. Ferguson made at least 4 different models of planter, the one I had had individual belt drive units, the colector I sold mine to had a planter with a common single chain drive for both units, and this sommer I saw one that had individual chain drive for both units. And for a picker I have in front of me a operators parts book for a Ferguson one row right side snapping roll picker model EH that was the husker and ES that was the snapper dated August, 1949 Harry Ferguson, Inc. Detroit Michigan. It does not mention anything about Belle City. Years ago a neighbor had a Belle City but I don't remember that much about it so I cannot tell if this Ferguson picker is a Belle City or not. I do have one of the grey Wood Bros. that I may be using this fall, The Wood Bros. had the snapping unit on the left side.

The Ferguson-Wood Bros was made until 1947 with gray paint(some I have seen repainted red), the model WBP1 tag was on the back of the frame, when Ford and Ferguson split then Ford dealers sold them and they were called Dearborn-Wood Bros model 16-4 and painted red, Ferguson then sold the Belle City picker.

The wood Bros picker was made with two different models with the grey paint and then The Dearborn Wood Bros. with red paint and then the same picker with red paint with just the Ford name. Can you tell me the exact years of each model? I have one of the later style grey pickers but have the books for the earlier style.

Yes, Ferguson made both.

Infact there were displays of both at the Massey International show in Plain City and the FENA Show in Jordan.

The lattest Ferguson Furrows (FENA's News Letter) has pictures of both.

Lee Folkerts brought his D-PO-A20 corn Planter with a A-RO-B60 Fertilizer attachment.

and

Louis and Joyce Richards had a F-HO-20 side mounted Tractor-Mate Forage Harvester with a one row corn head.

Paul (AZ) can help you get a copy of the Furrows if you want one.

Brent; Yes,Ferguson made both. We had a planter and the 1 row Belle City corn picker made for Ferguson. One of the issues of the Ferguson Furrows news letter has a picture of a Ferguson planter. It is the Jan.2005 issue#19.
