How do you pull off the stump jumper on a bush hog? I have removed the nut that holds it on but can not move it at all. There must be a trick to it. I have to remove mine so I can tighten the bolts that hold the gear box. Thanks Terry

Yes, marlowe is correct. On my brush hog, I sharpen my blades every year so I take off the stump jumper and sharpen the blades on it (removeing one nut instead of two is easier I think). I remove the nut on the shaft and give it a little shake and it falls off. before I replace it I grease the shaft so it will be easy to remove next year. I have a freind that had the same problem as you awile back and we had to do the very same thing that marlowe expained.

i made a pull that went from the blade bolt holes across the center shaft [leave nut on shaft so you don't mess threeds up] and use a little heat and they pop right off

It is the large round pie pan shaped cylinder that the two blades are attached to. It is called or I have heard it called a stump jumper, because when you are chopping it helps move the chopper over short stumps.
