I have an 8N with non-8N fenders and running boards. The fenders look like ford but one of them has a factory "storage pocket" built into it. Looks like a place to put tools, rags etc. The running boards more or less fit the tractor but have three rows of raised holes (for foot traction) instead of being covered with raised squares like the 8N and the left one has about a 4" slot on the transmission side of the board like a lever of some sort came up through it. Any of these things ring a bell with you guys?

Bill- The slot in the fender is a tool box; the slot is for a stop on the clutch when engaging the
engine but not the PTO. I have what you described on my Ferguson F40. Post your serial tractor and motor serial numbers and check the serial number list on this website for better id. Good Luck.

Bill-the second slot I mentioned is the one in the
running board while the first is the oval opening
in the left fender.Let me know if you have an F40.

Thanks for the ID. These fenders and running boards are installed on a Ford 8n that I bought and would be interested in trading or selling them if anyone's interested. I'd like to replace them with Ford fenders and boards. They are all in good shape. The slot in the fender is actually pretty handy for tools and stuff. Too bad Ford didn't have that feature. I am not familiar with the F40...guess I'll look it up on this site. Thanks again for the help.
