PTO seal leaking. Need help getting to seal. I removed the chain keepers and studs on each side of PTO shaft. I then removed the three bolts that hold on the cover plate along with the cover plate. now I have a housing assembly that is 3.25 inches in dia. with two flats milled into the sides. I put a pipe wrench on these flats, thinking that the housing would screw out, but it just goes round and round. How do I remove this housing to get at the seal? any help would be appreciated.

Jerry, Thanks loads for the help friends. It came out just like you said. I
put a 3/8" capscrew in the hole in the splined shaft and used my crowbar
to first pry lightly on one side, then the other and out she popped. This seal is made with two lips, one on the inside
for wiping back the lubricant and an outer one for dust and debris
exclusion. The outer lip had torn loose from the housing and had been
forced back between the inner lip and the shaft, thus the leak. I will
go into town today and get a new one. It is a 'National' #20076-S. The
shaft seems to be unscored and in near perfect condition. Thanks again
for the help, Big Dean and Jerry. Mabey I can return the favor some day. Billy Dean Briscoe Hawkins, Texas
