I hope you can help: I"m trying to read the tag on my TE 20 distributor. It looks like D3A410, but I am not sure.
My tractor serial number is TE 28383, so it"s a 1948. Is there any way to confirm the distributor number? I am wanting to order the Pertronix Ignitor for it.
Thanks.

No problem Dennis, only one snag that number you gave is the start of a TEA distributor part number, the TE distributor was D3A3 V125 40084J, the first TEA 80mm was D3A4 V139 40132E
later TEA's 80mm were D3A4 V139/3 40146D
It looks as though someone has fitted a later distributor to this tractor because they couldn't get the original type, for my money it would be the one for the later type TEA as they are both timed at the same point (TDC) with that distributor number....John

I appreciate it, John.
Yesterday, I found the Pertronix part number you sent me back in July: LU145. I guess this will work, as you stated it's for a Lucas D3A4.
Thanks again.
Dennis

John, are Standard 23c shop manuals available in the UK? I have the MF14 I&T manual, but it leaves a lot to the imagination. Also, I"m looking for a manual for the CAV model DPA inj. pumps used on the TO35. Thanks, Oldfarmboy Jim

Hi Jim, I don't know of any of these so I had a look around the various sites but I didn't find anything at all. I have emailed a friend of mine in the trade and I am waiting for his reply but I have to say it does not look good. The only way you may get some information on the engine now is if you bought the FE35 Service Manual as the engine was first fitted in that tractor but even then it would be wise to check with them first to make sure it is in there. The only genuine manuals are available from the FoFH shop here in UK, I could ask the question from them if you want to go that far, I know that they would be able to send a manual to you.

More: John, I know you had provided this information to me sometime this year, but I cannot find it.
Sorry to bother you again.
Regards.
