The TE20 had no side emblems I believe(John is this right?) and even some TO20s were delilvered without side emblems. The TE20 has a vertical coil and an oil fill tube near the tool box., so I stand by my TO20 guess. The TO20/30 coils are horizontal like the cover picture and the oil fill tube is near the front of the engine.

Phil,

I believe you are blending the TE and the TEA together.

The TE-20 has the Z120 engine. Thus the engine side view is the same. Horz. coil, oil fill in front. etc. The TE-20 does not have sidename plates and the tool box is located under the battery as shown. (This one looks just like my TE-20 -

The TEA-20 with the standard motor is as you discribe. Vert coil, and oil fill at rear.

Jeff, well I concede. I had in my mind the TO20 also had the external tool box like the 2N/9N, but it didn't. Thanks for clearing up my misinformation.

Phil

The TE-20 is one of the few things I know about Fergusons. (Mainly because, that is what I have).

I am very greatful for the help I get from everyone, such as yourself. I still have that copy of the Furrows #9 that you sent me back in "03. It is a little tatterd now, but I am happy to report that my lights shine brightly, and I now have a Tarsus tail light to install this spring. All with thanks to you.

I hope you get a few non-rainny days soon.
Jeff

Jeff, glad that Furrows article was of assistance. I still hear about it occasionally from folks. Paul N. made me do it!
I will now always remember the TE-20 had the Continental engine for a while in production. Iknew that, but forgot in my zeal to answer the query.
We just broke the record of 33 straight rainy days in Olympia, WA just down the road from us, but we had one day of dry weather at my location and must start over again. But the snow in the mountains have been good to us skiers.

With the tool box style and placement and horizontal mounting of the coil I would say that it is a mirror image of a TE20.

The tractor on the cover is clearly a TE-20. As Phil points out the picture is reversed. (should be facing to the left) Look at the image in a mirror to see it correctly.

I say it is a TE-20 as there are no nameplates on the hood, and it is diffently a Z120 engine because of the oil fill placement etc.

Albert, the artist rendering does not represent any actual Ferguson model as he(she?) has reversed the sides of the tractor showing the left(looking forward) side view as the right side view. It appears it was intended to represent a TO-20 model other than this error.

Good catalog though.
