I am working on a Ferguson tractor for my girlfriend, and ned to find out more about the tractor. The plate on the engine has the number 43642A, and on the dash is a plate which has Standard Motor Company, England with the numbers TE50827. I am looking for points and condenser for the tractor, distributor #40084E. All help is greatly appreciated.

Also, if I may, what part of the country are you in?

The issue here is that there were 3 different engine in the T-20 series. The TE-20 had two of these engines.

I"m not aware of the TE20 having anything other than the Z120 Continental. The TO20 had the same engine & the TO30 the Z129. The TEA had the Standard Vanguard engine.

The reason for asking is that nearly all references stop TE-20 production at SN 48,000. This gentleman says his SN is TE50827.

A) It has a Cont. Z120 and thus we must update the known data of how long TE-20's were made.

B) It has the Standard motor, and we must update our knowledge of how the tractors were identified during the transition.

Either way we have something to learn. Intriguing.

This is the second reference to a post SN 48000 TE in the last week.

Jeff

I live in Winston Salem, NC. The tractor is about 15 miles from me, and it will be tomorrow before I can obtain any further info. I do know it is a 4 cylinder OHV engine with a Lucas distributor.

Can you provide a little more info on the engine?

Specificly where is the oil filler tube? and secondly are there any cast numbers on the left side of the block "Z120" perhaps.

Thanks.

It is a 1948 TE 20 according to the serial number listing found on this website.
