Oil drain plugs

Hello all,

Simple question: Regarding the TEA20 (1951) I've notice people mention that there are Three oil drains, so other than the obvious big drain, where are the other two? Are they the two that are on the bottom plate of the hydraulic pump that sort of come out sideways (opposite to each other on an angle in relation with the frame) rather than downward?

Thanks in advance to all your input.

Ivan

Now that you have found the drain plugs, you will probably notice that there will be some real sludge coming out of the drain plug on the transmission. Since this drain plug is the lower of the two in the rear differential, I was able to run my old oil from the engine and the other rear differential drain through again and again until it ran out of the transmission plug clean. Hope this helps.

Hehe ... yes, this is the tricky one.. I could not find it on my tractor... had to view the movie from the production of it.
If you have a hitch under the differential the drain plug is hidden.

There is holes where you can bolt a hitch. In the middle between all the 4 holes you find the 5th hole where the drain plug is.

I can"t speak on the TEA20 but my 1958 TO-35 has three. They are in the side not the bottom of the pans. One for the engine, one is for the trans. and the other for the hydraulics. Now the trans and the hyd. are one large case and share fluid but they are some what separated so they have two drains to make sure you get all the fluid drained.
Hope that helps.

Thanks TN_Glen

Yeah, I figured it out. I wasn't sure but I sort of suspected that those two plugs that came out sidways were the ones that I needed. All is good and the remainder of the oil is slowly coming out. I'm taking out the Hydraulic pump and didn't want a mess.

No those aren't the other two...there is one right inder the differential, the one on the bottom of the pump, and one under the transmissiion.
Be careful with those two plugs now, not to strip the threads in the aluminum pump - as I recall they are an uncommon thread pitch.
