I've been using WW solution in tires for a few years now. Like it was mentioned, NAPA, as well as a few others will sell it at a reduced rate when you buy a bunch. I've managed to get blue plastic 55 gallon drums from time to time. Price may vary. A few years back, I paid less than $.50 a gallon. Last load was $.77.

Works great, clean, no rust issue, plenty weight (right at 8 lbs. per gal.), and easy to get.

I've never made a posting on this board but have been a frequent observer of the Case,Farmall and Ferguson discussions. Never really thought about using some other non-freezable liquid but now that these alternatives have surfaced,I imagine that the pink RV antifreeze could be more economical than conventional antifreeze, and could also be more environmentally friendly. I do wonder though if one could use it 50/50 or if you would need to use it full strength. I suspect that it has alcohol in it because I can feel the cooling effect of it evaporating when I get it on my hands while winterizing the water system on my camper. Just a thought, and finally decided to enter my 2 cents worth. Jim

IT will work too... not as cheap as windshield washer fluid though... and don't dilute it any more than it already is.... The pink stuff is about 30% Propylene glycol and 70% water... will freeze but not get hard.. just slush... J2

Used antifreeze works good too. You might get it for free from a dealer or quick service place like Jiffy Lube.

If your going to use anti-freeze. Whynot flush your car(s) and tractor's radiators and catch it is a bucket. Run it through a filter (paper towels in a funnel) then put it in you tires. Your vehicles probally could use a radiator flush anyway... The re-claimed fluids are then free.

Yes.. works fine and much cheaper than calcium chloride and not nearly as corrosive.... (not quite as heavy either but same as water) and it doesn't freeze solid...may get some slush.. Other posters (on the Ford N board) have suggested that if you are getting a lot (e.g. for the rear tires) to try to get a pallet price from NAPA... about half...J2
