If the oil hasn't been changed for some time it will be that colour, this could also have some effect on the Control Valve sticking. You need to change the oil as soon as you get the valve free. Little oil should come out if the level is correct and the bottom screw is replaced. When you say the Control "arm" do you mean the Control Fork that hangs down from the top and goes down into the oil, that will pop back if you push it in the wrong place as there is a spring in the middle of it holding it in place. Stop the engine and follow the Fork down into the oil and you will feel a "bar" running between the two legs of the Control Fork, right at the end, this is attached directly to the Control Valve, try moving the valve gently in and out of the Pump by holding the "bar", see if that frees it. If it doesn't work free then email me at:- fergusontractors(at)tiscali.co.uk
and I will send you written instructions and pictures on what to do next.

No probs Shawn, the valve should maybe move a little more than that, the oil will be ok. a lot better than what you had in it.The Control Valve Fork should go right up to the face of the Hydraulic Pump, if it doesn't it wont be able to suck oil in through the valve as it will be in the wrong position. I have mailed you direct as well.....John
