What's the most likely cause of inoperative hydraulics, which were previously OK, on a tractor which has been idle for a couple of years?

I've repaired a number hydraulic faults on T20 tractors here in Wales, UK, and the most common causes I've found are:
-broken or bent control valve -poor quality oil
-lots of muck preventing control valve operating correctly.
-stuck piston under hydraulic cover. hope this helps.

Hi Alex

Be sure that the PTO is engaged because the hyd pump is driven by PTO shaft

And...start the engine PTO engaged and let the
whole thing warming up...may be some air in hyd system runing for a while may bring you good
news.

Good luck

something could be stuck in the controls, or a pin may have dropped out you almost have to take it apart to find out just drain oil out and remove two side covers take out small pins in fork assembly on each side thsi has to fit back together or it will not work. Let us know if you get it apart you must take off top cover after you get the fork apart. regards
