I bought a Ford 2N as a project. It came with what appears to be a very light duty loader. The tag on it says it's a Ferguson L-U0-20 with a s/n of 1230. It came to me as a pile of scrap iron and I'm trying to evaluate whether it's all there and worth trying to sell or if it just needs to go in the scrap pile.

I'll take some pictures of the pieces later and post them. In the meantime, give me a shout if you've ever heard of this beast.

There are two brackets that bolt to the front axle, one one each side. The loader hardware then appears to attach to these bracket. I'm assuming this is supposed to be plumbed to the tractor test port and then chain down the lift arms. I can't find any kind of hydraulic control valve anywhere else on the system. I'm also wondering if this is really intended for use on a TO-20.

There was no Control Valve with this loader, it was operated by using the tractor Hydraulic Lever. That loader used to have a Dump Valve fitted on the Round Inspection Cover on the Right-Hand side, if it isn't there it will still work as we had a similar loader in the UK and that didn't have the Dump Valve either. I have the illustrations from the parts list for that loader and it shows what should be there if you want them, email me at:-

You will need something to hold down the rear linkage lift arms to stop them going all the way to the top or it will shut the Pump off and the loader wont work, do not fasten anything to the top link connection on the tractor when using this loader (or any loader)
