I have an idea how to solve the problem of having to turn the sediment bowl valve on and off regulate gas flow due to float valve leaking.

A washing maching has electric solenoids which turn the hot and cold water supply lines on and off. Why can't one of these be used to open the gas line when the key is on and shut it off when the key is turned off? I am planning to look into this. someone must make a device like this that could be adapted to the Fergs.

Of course they do. For $60, it can be yours. Sounds pricey, but by the time you figure out how to do it, scrounge up the parts, and custom fit it, you could buy this and go on.

That electric fuel shutoff is neat! I'll have to save my mad money and get one of those for my TO!
thanks

Wouldn"t it be easier just to fix the carb and make sure the float was set right??

I owned a TO20 for over 30 years and now a TO35. Rebuilt the carbs, replaced the float valves, etc. It would sometimes stop the leaking for a short while but start right in again. I finally gave in to the inevitable. I turn the gas on each time I start the tractor.
