Stabilizer setup?

I installed a set of stabilizer bars yesterday and have a set up question. It seems that the bar mounting points create a different radius than the lift bars and tend to put undue torque on the mounting bolts either at the top or the bottome of the lift travel. Is this common, and if so which is better, too tight at the bottom or at the top?

Sometimes the obvious is just too simple. The previous owner had the mounts reversed left on right and right on left. I turned them around, everything then lined up perfectly.

The usual answer to this problem is that you have the bottom pins mounted on the brackets under the fenders in the wrong hole. The pins should be in the hole that is exactly opposite the lower link pin into the tractor. You should also leave the fender bolts slack until you have lifted the implement with the stabiliser bars attached, up and down a few times as the holes in the brackets are elongated to allow for any small movement that may be necessary to line up the pins with the lower link pin. Once you have done this you can tighten up the fender bolts and it should be ok.
