Yes It works fine. I purchased a 3 point splitter at Tractor supply for 499.00. The output from the tractor is 3/8 inch & the input on the splitter is 3/4. The ram is not fast but it will split any size oak, maple, log that you put in it. I purchased a diverter valve to send all of the fluid to the splitter instead of having it diverted between the splitter & the 3 point.

Paul:

I have a TO 30 and looked at this item as well.

One important point to note is that it will need to run off of the internal hydraulic pressure within the tractor. These splitters do not come with there own pump. As I already have a Paulson loader connected to the internal hydraulic system, I have hesitated to modify any further. This could be done however.

Also pay close attention to the pressure needed to operate. When I left this issue the published pressure available from the internal hydraulics was in question.

I also looked at adapting a separate pump to the PTO, but quickly realized that the relatively slow rpms there is a problem. I believe that a separate pump could be found that could be mounted to work directly off on the PTO but this is not the run-of-the-mill, a speciality hydraulics shop may a place to start.

Hope this helps

On running an secondary hudralic pump off a ractor p.t.o.(To run a log splitter or other hydraulic tools would in most cases NOT BE A PROBLEM several pumps are made for 540-1000 R.P.M. P.T.O.s.)
As long as the tractor has the power to run the pump.(Ask a farm tractor dealer for information & help for your specific needs.)( A external hydr oil tank would also be required.) HOPE THIS HELPS BRIAN BLANK.
