I noticed a couple of pages back the guys were discussing the rebuilding of the oil pump and the subject came up about drilling and tapping the set screw hole for the mounting of the new drive gear and how hard it is to do because the shaft is steel and the gear is aluminum...and how the drill tends to walk over into the softer metal...and not to do it with a hand drill because that would be easier to screw up...well, why not drill a hole in a piece of flat steel first and clamp it in the correct position and then it wouldn"t matter what you used to drill it with because the steel guide would keep you on the money. Just trying to keep some of you lined up...grin. Fred OH

Fred,

Now you've gone and spilled the beans. How will the people that sell those expensive alignment kits ever be able to make a living now????

Mike
