Just bought a complete Ferguson like the Ford N series tractors. How can I tell what model it actually is ??? Also, seller told me it still ran but had water in the oil. How can I find out if its a head, block, gasket, or what is wrong, without tearing into it ??? Thanks

To quickly check what model the engine is (the tractors are basically the same) Look for the engine oil filler, is it at the front of the engine block or at the rear just above the starter. Also look for an oil filter, is there one below the distributor or has the oil pan got a large round plate in the centre. If you tell us that we will know what the engine is.

Oil filler is on left front side of engine. Oil pan has round circular plate on bottom with drain plug. I did find serial number, TO-55789. So, I take it I have a 1951 Model TO ??? What size is engine ??

Providing the engine has not been changed, that serial number was a TO20, they changed to TO30 at serial # 60000
