Supply Tube?

Both the service manual and several posts on the board discuss the supply tube in the hydraulics. When I tear into the lift tomorrow I will check the tube for leakage. However, where does one find a replacement tube if needed since I cannot find it in the Ferguson parts section on this site. Also, what would cause the quadrant setting to be all the way forward on its mount to get the lift to both raise and lower? I have set the draft spring to the correct (just can rotate with implement) setting and with the quadrant adjusted full forwards the lift kicks in 1/2 way up and I can't seem to get it to respond at the 2 1/2 from top of quadrant setting the manual suggests. Any feedback would be most appreciated .

It is most unlikely the stack tube has blown, it's not unheard of but highly unlikely. The most probable cause of a leak is the gasket on the top or the bottom. You don't say if the Implement drops quickly when you stop the engine or put the PTO out of gear, if a gasket or the tube was blown you would get the same result and the hydraulics would drop. The quadrant setting you say is fully forward, this is unusual normally it is part way between the front and rear position. To set it, slacken the 4 setscrews that hold the quadrant to the housing and move the whole quadrant towards the rear now lift the implement and leave the PTO running, move the lever so that the rear edge is 2-1/2" from the rearmost position, now move the quadrant stop up to the lever so it will not move, now gently lever the quadrant forward until the implement starts to drop, it should be JUST starting to drop for it to be correct, now tighten up the 4 setscrews and check it again a couple of times, it should now be correct. If the lever does not work in this position, remove the quadrant from the tractor and check for wear at the point it rubs on the top of the Control Fork inside.

The supply tube is in the Ferguson Parts Manual but it's shown with the Center Housing Assembly on page 65. Usually th etube is not the problem, the oring seals fail. Whe you remove it, make sure you note how it comes out as I think there is only one way to install it without damaging it. Do you have the Shop Manual to tell you how to make the adjustment? Guess not or you wouldn't be asking. You loosen the 4 bolts, put the lever all the way back until the plow is full up. The you move it to the 2-1/2 inch mark and if it doesn't drop, you move the whole assembley forward prying it with a screw driver forward in a level motion until it just stars to drop. At that point you tighten the 4 bolts. In your case you may have to move the whole assembly back and restart the procedure.

Found the linkage was tied up with wire inside rather than bolts allowing it to wobble about. No amount of manual instructions would have fixed this :) Also, relief valve was broken internally and control valve had come off oscillator valve. Sometimes you just have to dig into things to find out what went wrong

Yes, I do have the shop manual, and when following its directions get the results as listed in my first post with the quadrant plate at its most forward position. I was looking for the reason why it would need to be set so far forward and will check for wear when I get it apart this morning.
